About PEB

Lived Experience & Professional Background

I was raised in a community deeply affected by substance abuse and within a family where addiction was a constant presence. These early experiences shaped my understanding of how addiction impacts not only individuals, but entire families and generations.

As an adult, I navigated addiction within my own household. My husband struggled with substance use and has been free since 1985. Later, my son faced addiction to PCP and has now been free for over 20 years. Walking alongside loved ones through addiction and recovery has given me a deep, firsthand understanding of the emotional, relational, and psychological toll it takes on families.

During my husband’s addiction, I pursued and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with an emphasis in Chemical Dependency, equipping me with both clinical knowledge and lived insight. This combination allows me to bridge professional understanding with real-world experience, offering guidance that is informed, compassionate, and practical.

Today, I use my story and training to support individuals and families affected by someone else’s addiction—helping them recognize patterns, establish healthy boundaries, and begin their own healing journey.
